That heart sinking moment when we saw the cameras pan back to Ryan slowing to a hault and sulking over to the side rail was one that hit US distance fans hard, it hit Hall even harder. Now back in Flag, Ryan reflects on the injury, the remorse, but more importantly, the drive and positive attiude that wills him to his next race..NYC

Does anyone else find it hilarious how much he nods his head when people are talking to him?

Thank you for showing the whole interview all the way through and not 5 pieces of 4 minutes each. Alex you are doing a great job and Flotrack has come such a long way. Always my first thing to check when I walk in the office after facebook. haha Time to actually get some work done. Keep it up guys.

Also good to hear Ryan talk about us average runners that do a marathon in sub 2:50 but train our butts off.

I suppose at the end of the day you can call anything you like "God" or nothing at all, it's your choice! The fact that Hall continues to relay so heavily on his faith as a major factor in his training / life will always conviently allow him a fall back position when things go astray either physically or emotionally. A random flare up of that muscle can happen to anyone but a "physically present human coach" would have clearly been watching out for something like that! Faith does not happen in some kind of isolated vacuum where you're all by yourself with nothing or nobody to else to relate to. It's all about interdependent relationships. He knows this to be true in his personal life, why can he see this clearly in his running life? He came across in that interview as essentially uncomfortable and very eager to get through it. No doubt he will be back, hungrier than ever. I just hope he shifts his focus slightly to cautiously include a "human" sympathetic coach /trainer who really cares about his success!

This guy is done; he doesn't seem to realize that there is no running god, only training will get one anywhere. He should be more like me and mi boizzzz because we are beasts who cannot be stopped EVA!!!! Put every optimistic twist on it you want Hall bcuz U R SO FRKN finished! No more 12 mile tempos! No more floating, beautifully fluid strides, only suffering! HAHAHAHA (evil voice). Sincerely, Cheseret.

I love the idea of "mourning the loss" and then moving on.

Great athlete with lots of wisdom.
