Dave, it's not truly the atmosphere... a lot of meets have that atmosphere. it's simply the quality of talent that comes to compete. all of these guys are capable of sub-9, THAT'S why they go sub 9... not because of some arcadia "magic"

just look where these runners are from... ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. it's pretty much a footlocker national championship race

Every year for the last several years, the bulk of the top 3200M times in the country comes from this meet in this race. If I were a HS distance runner, I would be booking a hotel for next year. I would love to hear from someone "in the know", what is it about this meet and this event that gives such great performances?
