I'm trying to picture what she would look like in a green shirt with a big yellow "O" on it!

Amazing Sarah 7 months ago

Sarah is a contradiction. While she may lack some confidence socially as many high school kids do, she is transformed when she starts running. Certainly she is talented physically, but mentally as well. She runs boldly from the front without any hesitation and never looking back. She has an amazing sense of pace and never seems to lack confidence. She will mature and gain that social confidence, but that boldness and confidence she shows running is very hard to teach. Bravo Sarah!

I was at this meet and witnessed her last 20-40 meters, and honestly felt honored to see her race. She's an amazing runner and when she was running in, EVERYBODY was cheering wildly. Glad to know she's humble about everything too. Great role model for other runners!

Some us wait a life time to wittness a race like this .......just a chance to see greatest. I hope, I hope she keeps the fire and stay healty!

Sarah did great, she is amazing, a hard worker and dedicated to her sport. She is very shy and humble. I had much rather see her comments being honest. She really wants her team to do great, she loves her team and sport. She needs more competition consistently to see what she is really capable of.

2 Miles! 7 months ago

She needs to race Mary Cain over 2 miles this spring to finally take down that 9:48 record! Both could easily do it!

She needs to race Mary Cain over two miles this spring and take down that stupid 9:48 time!

Very impressive, I like the grounded demeanor!! Rooting for you the next 5 years! That's the future of women's American distance running right there Stay humble Sarah

This is probably the most boring interview I've ever seen.

nice 7 months ago

I would like to give props to Alex for doing a great interview...he has come along way and I feel that this interview would have been very, very awkward if done by anyone else. He did a good job of asking good questions despite Sarah not having much to say, obviously being a little blown away by the whole thing.

Stunning! Hard to wrap one's brain around this kind of time for a junior who still looks like a junior. Trotter went on to win Footlocker the year she set the now eclipsed record, running (if I remember correctly) something like 16:30 for the 5K on the much faster course on the East coast (Florida?). Makes you wonder what Ms. Baxter's got in her if she's on an equally fast course with some competition.

If she stays healthy, will we see a 9:40-something for the 3200 before she graduates? I sure wouldn't bet against it.

Good job! 7 months ago

I thought the interviewer was awesome and his voice is very pleasant and enthusiastic. I don't know what interview the critic below was listening too.

Anonymous Coward 7 months ago

that was a crappy job by the interviewer. You're talking to perhaps the greatest high school XC runner of all time...show some enthusiasm and make it a little longer than 90 seconds.

definitely not full of herself. what a great kid.
