He kept on mispronouncing Sean's last name -.- I really wish he had won. He is truly incredible and works so hard. He is extremely modest and down to earth for a man of such talents. He is just as a good of a person that he is of a runner. Being on the same track team as him is truly a privilege.

No sense of history! You all worry too much about this. I submit to you the same scenario in FLXC 2003. Kiptoo had almost the same credentials as Cheserek, And is Kenyan. It's just that Rupp and Withrow were a little faster than our guys this year. But Jake Leingang and Sean McGorty weren't far off. This was not demolishing! FLXC has been won by far greater margins by non-Kenyan USA born runners. Again USA is back, baby! Stop hating.

Footlocker is a better meet. Nike is not there yet. Maybe they'll catch up someday soon, maybe? The issue is the live coverage and media savvy of Footlocker. Nike is all about the publicity, so the coverage is stronger. But Footlocker is a better race. No question. Come on Footlocker, improve your coverage to match the quality of the competition. Amen?

5 guys within 19 seconds of Cheserek. @JOKE! if he is a year or two older, that's even more impressive. Another top-notch analysis, JOKE! Ugh! And in regards to your American obesity comment on another thread: yes it is a sad issue for the USA. But it is not clearly related to running performance. Simply stated, runners are not part of the demographic. A lack of national media coverage, to spotlight running heroes, is a clearer connection. And regardless of coverage: Rupp, Hall (a couple years ago), Mazano, Centro's (not to mention--women milers) world class performances are an indication of great stuff to come, if we can encourage as opposed to distress! The better point is not an American runner prob, they are rocking-it and would smoke you. Are you even contributing to the situation? The better argument is: "unethical coaches looking to demolish their American competition. Unconscionable. I do not blame Cheserek." USA is back, baby!

Footlocker is falling apart. Up the hill the second time was so frustrating. The commentators were yelling and all we got to see was them talking. I was really looking forward to this but was honestly very disappointed. It was great last year, but this was ridiculous.

Seriously guys, we don't know how old Cheserek is. Just give him the benefit of the doubt and give him cred for an excellently executed race plan. And BTW somebody really flopped on the coverage.... pitiful.
FLOtrack needs to do it next year! and the announcers are annoying, they state the obvious. Announcers are there to tell you what you don't already know.

Can we get Ryan and Alex announcing this please? The announcers were terrible, they didn't show us any of anyone's moves made in the race, i didn't wanna see some people (who they hell are they) while there is a race going on. You guys at FloTrack would have done a much better job.

Brutal coverage. Commentators didn't rise to the occasion when the video went out. Carrie Tollefson states the obvious every year in her coverage. Glad I could skip thru the coverage.

Real Americans...I have another point of view: if we ever want to get on the same level as the African runners we need to compete with them. It's also better that they are coming to the U.S. and making our runners better rather than going to Europe or some other place and making their runners better. I think we should feel grateful that our HS athletes are able to compete against such high caliber athletes.

McGorty is the American Footlocker Cross Country Champion for 2012, Period. Cheserek, at whatever age he is, ran faster, however, he is a Kenyan pro, not an American, and he was recruited into the US, at the high school level no less, by unethical coaches looking to demolish their American competition. Unconscionable. I do not blame Cheserek. He is a nice kid. It is the coaches who are ruining the American running scene that need to be brought to task for this travesty. Thoughts?

what the hell was that. Foot Locker really needs to make a public apology for the way they covered this race. One camera breaks and it changes from being coverage of a national championship race to worse quality then a freshman running around with an IPhone. Absolute garbage.
