Normally, you would be overwhelmed by the live and archived coverage that Flotrack brings you from the Dempsey. This year things have changed and the Pac 12 Network is attempting to broadcast the meets live, but after the live broadcast is over, the races are gone forever. Greg Metcalf waeighs in.

Indoor track and field isnt even an official Pac-12 sport, so why should the Pac-12 network pick it up?
Flotrack have got this meet under control and perfected over the past few years, people are not going to be happy that it has been taken without anything they could have done about it.
Hopefully Flotrack can work something out so they can at least archive the races.

I'm a little confused. What is the point of this, doesn't Flotrack already provide this service?

I love me some flotrack but I didn't mind watching the meet for free. Having the meet stream live for free is good for the sport. I do miss the archive footage though. Flotrack is like the crack dealer to the fans. They give you free live streaming for a few years, you get hooked and then they start charging. I do believe they have the sports best interest at heart, but 20 bucks a month is steep. The PAC12 Network did do a great job.

YES, because it is a pac-12 school and I am not sure what the whole deal each school is put into with the pac-12 network. It seems like a good idea to me though.

at least theyre not charging us. UW was the only meet i watched live all weekend thanks to you guys.

Actually, why should I pay to watch this. Other meets, ok, but I already pay Dish Network who pays the Pac-12 Network, who pays the Pac-12. Where's my footage??

I'd pay to watch the streamed meet, even tho $150/yr is a little on the high side, but not without access to full archived footage. Some people work Saturdays.

Not sure how the Pac-12 Network gets to call the shots for indoor track, a sport not even sponsored by the Pac-12. How do fellow Mountain Pacific Sports Federation schools BYU, Long Beach State, Cal St Northridge, Hawaii, and Cal Irvine feel about it?

Live coverage was pretty darn good. Hope you are able to figure out the archive issue. This is how people who are not fans yet become fans. They don't know to watch it live but someone sends them a link to the archive. That is what hooks them and gets them into the sport. Now can you please tutor the folks that host the D1 Western Regionals Outdoor? Sighhhhh still waiting for coverage that was supposed to happen last year. That is what I really feared would happen with the Pack12 coverage. Thankfully it did not... at least at the Dempsey.
