Abbey's time of 15:28.11 was the fifth fastest time in collegiate history and also an American-collegiate record. The following day D'Agostino did not leave any questions as to how strong she was when she pulled away from a strong 3k field to win by over six second in 9:01.08. There have only been two women in NCAA history to complete the double, Kim Smith (New Zealand, 3x Olympian) and Sally Kipyego (Kenya, Olympic silver medalist).
