As an afterthought when the All-American selections came out for the nearly dozen girls on the Oregon squad, the total number of All-American awards totaled 73, 17 of them for Jordan Hasay. She has one outdoor season left. Laura Roesler now has 11, Anne Kesselring has 10, Okodogbe 9, Phyllis Francis, one of two sisters on the team, 8, Becca Friday 7, English Gardner 6, Alexi Pappas, with just one red shirt senior XC and Indoor season as a Duck, 3, and the two youngsters who stepped up big time, Prandini and Leblanc, 1 each.

Lots of anxious moments this weekend for Jordan and the rest of the Ducks. Combined with Alexi Pappas in the Friday night 5K they managed 8 points. That was an indication of how tough the weekend might become. The girls managed only one win, the 4x400. But the secret of their success was continuing to go for the "eights". I just kept doing the math and if the one or two Duck girls in most of the races could continue to rack up the eight points, they had a very good chance of pulling this off. A couple of the upperclassmen slipped a little, and a couple of the freshmen stepped up to hold it all together. That's the beauty of this Oregon team mentality. When everyone gets on the bus at the end of the day, they can all look each other in the eye and know they did their absolute best.
