Ryan Hill came charging hard for Lawi Lalang in the final 400 meters of the mile, closing in 54.1. However, the gap was too big to overcome leaving Hill kicking himself for not going with Lalang's early conservative pace (Lalang 1:59 at 800, Hill was 2:01). Hill, who going in owned the #4 mile time in history, ran 3:55.25 which broke the previous NCAA meet record and ranks as the #10 best mark all-time. As the outdoor season rolls around Hill will look to continue progressing at the mile/1500 meter distances.

Glad to see Lawi running smart this indoor season unlike last year when he was traveling and running everywhere.

lame excuses 2 months ago

They all ran really dumb. They were all way under 4 minutes to make it to Nationals, Lawi runs a 1:59 half, and they are all 30 meters behind!! WTF!? DUH!!!!!

In the wise words of The Rock - "IT DOES'T MATTER" ...how good your kick is. Lawi beat him. Lawi ran the better, smarter race. Maybe he should have had balls and went with Lawi.
As the great Ricky Bobby says - "If you're not first, you're last"

Lawi blew him out of the water. He won because he ran the best race, and wouldn't have been out kicked. Lawi can't be touched, he would've found even another gear if he had to.
