Over a span of two years from November 2009 to November 2011, Sheila Reid brought home 7 national titles to Villanova (2x NCAA XC Champ, 2x NCAA XC Team Champs, NCAA Indoor DMR, NCAA Outdoor 1500 & 5k). Heading into her final outdoor season in 2012 there we big expectations after having so much success, however she did not experience a fairy tale ending. Reid finished 10th in the 5k final at the NCAA Outdoor and was visibly devastated to finish her collegiate career in such a manner. After a bumpy road she went on to make her first Olympic team for Canada in the 5000 meters. Later this week we will have part 2 with Sheila talking about her coaching and training changes this fall.

Amen, Runaway. Sheila did not need to "cry" or "whine", she made an appeal based on the ambiguous wording of the "Rising Star" category. Canada has tougher rules for qualifying than most other countries. She was fully deserving of the opportunity to compete in London and should be proud of her efforts as a novice Olympian. I wouldn't be surprised to see her on the podium in 2016!

First of all, yes she is a total babe. Also, she didn't gloat when she beat Jordan, she was happy to win, as anyone would be. Also, there was no 'crying' when it came to Olympic standards. Sheila did have the international standard- and you can be sent with a B standard if there is no one with the A standard, which there wasn't. Y'all have a lot of opinions for people who know nothing.

Some points:

1. First time I ever saw Reid I thought to myself "That is one gorgeous woman!". There's something very womanly about her. :-)
2. She's very talented. I hope she continues to develop and get faster. I'm not sure the 1500 is her best event, though. As she said in the video she needs to get faster in the 800.
3. She did kind of "whine" about the not getting picked for the Canadian Olympic team. Hopefully, in 2016 it shouldn't be an issue.

she didnt have the Canadian standard and cried about it and made it public then after three appeals they said F it just go to the Olympics and stop crying then she didn't get out of semis... I am not a fan of this girl

Yeah we saw the interview. Handling loss and disappointment is part of being an athlete. It is not the end of the world. "Beat down". Really?

I like her, and she's beautiful

She does have a c0cky side to her. Sometimes the way she seemed to gloat when she beat Jordan use to bug me. And frankly made her less apealing as an athlete. Humility is always a good thing.
