UW Steepler Mel Lawrence

University of Washington's Mel Lawrence finished 3rd and 5th at the 2009 NCAA's and USATF's, respectively. With seasonal bests of 9:40.89 in the steeple and 15:50.36 in the 5k, expectations were high for Lawrence as she and her Husky teammates aimed to defend the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Lawrence was slowed throughout the fall with an Achilles tendon injury. In this interview Lawrence talks about her recovery and expectations for the 2010 season.
