'04 Olympic Champ Joanna Hayes making a comeback!

null

In 2004 Joanna Hayes won the gold medal at the Olympic Games running, at the time, the #6 fastest time ever in the 100H. In 2008 Hayes made the finals of the Olympic Trials but finish last, missing her chance to defend her Olympic title. Fast forward three and half years later, after surgery and giving birth, Hayes started coaching middle school XC in the fall of 2011. After starting to run with her baby in a stroller while her athletes were practicing, Hayes started getting into shape. She consulted friend Allyson Felix and made the decision that she was ON THE COMEBACK! Currently Hayes has run the 4th fastest time under any conditions and is improving each race. Its a great story and we'll be sure to follow Hayes through June and hopefully beyond!
