i live 5 mins away from german and i rced agaisnt him 3 times of course he beat me, but i am proud to say that i ranned against him. Hope to see him in the Olympics. Good Luck int he Futer German the Man Fernandez |

Congrats to German, and thanks for the great video and commentary. It is great to see history made. What most of you do not get to see is that he is a great guy. I met him as a substitute teacher, and found him to be friendly, humble, and interesting - kind of rare these days. I hope we see more great things from him in the future - Go German! |

what makes this even crazier is that he ran 8:34.40 in a high school only race, i believe when nelson set the record of 8:36 he ran against professional at some Pepsi meet. Nonetheless, incredible race and who knows maybe he'll win a national championship as a freshman at Oklahoma State; with the amount of talent this man has, the sky is the limit for this outstanding individual. Fout ran 8:55 a year ago. If healthy he could have been faster. Good luck to him and Chris Derrick on the start of their college careers. |
