Mary Cain breaks a 41 year old high school national indoor mile record running 4:32.78 and en route breaks the 35 year old high school national indoor 1500m record with her mark of 4:16.11. The previous marks were held by Debbie Heald (4:38.5h) and Lynn Jennings (4:18.9h) respectively. Cain finish 3rd overall in the race just one second behind two professional athletes, Sarah Bowman and Nicole Sifuentes.
