Cal's Deborah Maier had a breakthrough year in 2012 finishing runner up in both the indoor 3k and 5k. Outdoors Maier ran the fastest 10k in the NCAA (32:14) before experiencing injury set backs after Payton Jordan. She battled back in a short amount of time to finish 3rd in the NCAA 10k and followed it up with her first appearance at the Olympic Trials. This year she is taking the lessons she learned and putting her efforts on winning an NCAA title!
