1:42.82. The London Olympic 800m final was the single most competitive race in the history of the event. Not only was it on the world's biggest stage, but the world record (1:40.91) was run and the fastest time any athlete had ever run to take second all the way to eighth place in an 800m were set in that legendary race. Duane Solomon finished in the "bittersweet" fourth position. Though he was just outside of a medal, "Bang Bang" had become the second fastest American at all-time in the 800m just behind his coach Johnny Gray. Still, Solomon thinks that he has more left.
