Elise Cranny Third Athlete In Recent Bowerman Exodus

Four-time national champion and American Indoor 5000m record holder Elise Cranny announced she is leaving the Bowerman Track Club.

Elise Cranny, a four-time US champion and indoor 5,000m American record-holder, shared this morning via Instagram that she is leaving the Bowerman Track Club.. 

Cranny's statement read: "The time has come for me to make a change".

Cranny becomes the third high-profile athlete in the last few weeks to announce her departure from the club, joining Grant Fisher and Cooper Teare

In total, six athletes have departed the club since the team moved to Eugene, which coincided with coaches Jerry Schumacher and Shalane Flanagan taking jobs at the University of Oregon. 

Matt Centrowitz, Woody Kincaid and Marc Scott were the previous departures.

Cranny had been with BTC since the spring of 2019 and had qualified for three consecutive global championships, beginning with the Tokyo Olympics. 

She is a national champion at both 5,000m and 10,000m,and sports personal bests of 14:33.1 (Indoor) and 30:14.66. 

Cranny did not announce what her upcoming plans are, but she is still currently under contract with Nike.
