Masai Russell, Full Olympic 100m Hurdles Podium Sign With Grand Slam Track
Masai Russell, Cyréna Samba-Mayela and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn have become the latest stars to join Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track.
Three of the world's best hurdlers are headed to Grand Slam Track.
On Wednesday morning, Grand Slam Track announced the signings of all three women's 100m hurdles medalists from the 2024 Paris Olympics -- Masai Russell, Cyréna Samba-Mayela and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.
The three become the first short hurdlers to sign with the league created by 400m American record holder Michael Johnson.
Russell, Samba-Mayela and Camacho-Quinn become the latest additions to the Racer roster, a list of athletes signed to compete in the league that also includes Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Josh Kerr, Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse, Fred Kerley, Kenny Bednarek and Melissa Jefferson.

Russell won the Olympic gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles in just her first-ever Olympics this summer, grabbing the win for Team USA in 12.33. Prior to turning pro, she was a consistent collegiate star at the University of Kentucky and still holds the NCAA record in the 100m hurdles.
"Coming off the Olympics, I want to continue regularly competing at the highest level, against the best in the world, and I'm certain that Grand Slam Track is the place for that," said Russell in a statement.
French athlete Samba-Mayela took silver in the 100m hurdles Paris Olympic final on home soil, and she also owns a World Indoor title in the 60m hurdles from 2022. Camacho-Quinn earned bronze in Paris, adding to the Puerto Rican star's Olympic medal collection that includes the gold medal from the Tokyo Games in 2021.
"I can't wait to get started, and am looking forward to facing Masai and Cyréna at all of the Slams next year," said Camacho-Quinn in a press release.
The three will face off in all four Slams beginning in 2025.
What Is Grand Slam Track?
Grand Slam Track, created by four-time Olympic gold medalist Johnson, will feature four track events -- AKA Slams -- in 2025 where signed Racers and appearing Challengers will compete head-to-head in two events over the two-days Slams. Racers, including Kerley and Bednarek, will receive base compensation for competing in each Slam and can earn additional prize money based on their performances.
96 total athletes -- 48 Racers and 48 Challengers -- will compete in each Slam. Grand Slam has a reported prize pot of $12.6 million and the Category winners of Slam will win $100,000.
