Grand Slam Track Announces Final Five Racers For 2025 Season
On Thursday, Grand Slam Track announced the signings of the final five Racers for the track league's inaugural season.
On Thursday morning, Grand Slam Track made their 48-person Racer lineup official as the league announced the signings of Caleb Dean, Diribe Welteji, Freddie Crittenden, Brittany Brown and Zharnel Hughes as the final five athletes to the roster.
All Racers will compete in Kingston, Miami, Philadelphia and Los Angeles for the league's four Slams in 2025.
The signings fill up all available Racer slots, leaving just the 48 Challenger slots for each competition to be announced.
"Rounding out our 48 Racers with the five exceptional talents is superb, and we still have another 50% of the field for each Slam to announce as Challengers," said Michael Johnson, Grand Slam Track founder.

Between the five final Racers, they bring plenty of international and collegiate experience to the table.
Brown joins the Grand Slam Track roster after a marquee 2024 outdoor season, winning a bronze medal in the women's 200m at the Paris Olympics. She also took home a win in the Diamond League final in the 200m in September.
"This is a new era for track, and I'm proud to be a part of it," said Brown in a release.
Like Brown, fellow Team USA member Crittenden also competed on the big stage this summer at the Paris Olympics, placing sixth in the men's 110m hurdles. Welteji, a young star at the women's middle distance events representing Ethiopia, took fourth in the 1,500m at the Olympics this year.
Hughes enters Grand Slam Track with success in the men's sprints, setting British records at the 100m and 200m distances and winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics in the men's 4x100m.
Dean, meanwhile, comes into the league after a historic NCAA campaign competing for Texas Tech this year. He became the first man in NCAA Division I history to win national titles in both the indoor 60m hurdles and outdoor 400m hurdles. His 400m hurdles best of 47.23 puts Dean at No. 2 all-time at the collegiate level.
"I'm hungry for more. I want to represent the USA on the world stage and prove myself against the best," said Dean in a statement.
Tickets to see the Racers and Challengers compete at each of the four Grand Slam Track competitions are currently on sale.
