Jakob Ingebrigtsen made the most of his time in Apeldoorn at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships.

The 2024 Olympic 5,000m Champ, raced on all four days of the competition, and strikingly led the leaderboards on every given day. He ended the weekend with European titles in the 1,500m and 3,000m.

For Ingebrigtsen, the weekend started with the 1,500m trials on Thursday.

He made Round 1 look relatively easy, toying with the field in the opening laps. He quite literally jogged off of the starting line before positioning himself for a final move to the front with 400m remaining.

He won his heat (first of three), of the 1,500m prelims with a 3:37.49.

Then came the 1,500m final on Friday evening. Ingebrigtsen positioned himself in ninth through the opening 500m before moving to first by the halfway point of the race. From that split, he refused to surrender the lead and magnificently held off the Frenchman, Azeddine Habz, for the win.

Ingebrigtsen crossed the line in 3:36.56, with Habz crossing in 3:36.92. Isaac Nader (POR) finished in third with his 3:37.10 and Neil Gourley (GBR) took fourth (3:38.29).

With the 1,500m in the rearview, Ingebrigtsen turned his attention to the 3,000m.

On Saturday afternoon, he cruised through the opening round of the event despite it being his first 3,000m of the 2025 season.

Despite the finishing time of 7:55.32, Ingebrigtsen ran a technically perfect race. He was positioned in 12th through the opening 2500m before moving to the lead by the 2800m split. He ran away from the field at that point, and took the heat win.

Ingebrigtsen ran the final 1,000m in an astounding 2:22.42 and in the mayhem, Sam Parsons (GER) and Adam Fogg (GBR) failed to qualify for Sunday's final.

Then came that fateful race and Ingebrigtsen threw a wrench at his competitors. Instead of sitting in the pack, the Norwegian went to the lead.

Yet, the pace remained pedestrian at best, with the field splitting 2:52 through the opening 1,000m. George Mills (GBR) grew restless and they split 5:49.20 through the 2,000m mark.

Shortly thereafter, Ingebrigtsen retrieved the lead and never looked back en-route to collecting the win in 7:48.37.

George Mills held on for second in 7:49.41 and Azeddine Habz secured his second medal of the weekend with a third place finish, in 7:50.48.
