Prior to tonight, Infeld was not qualified for the World Championships, but with her winning performance - she is currently qualified via World Ranking Criteria. As a result, she will effectively qualify for her fifth World Team.
Infeld is no stranger to World Championship racing. In 2015, she heroically earned a bronze medal in the 10,000m at the IAAF World Championships. Ironically, her time in that race was also 31:43.

Elise Cranny, who finished second with a 31:44.24 wis also qualified for the World Championships via ranking criteria. Taylor Roe finished in third (31:45.41) but she does not currently have enough world ranking points to qualify.
If Roe does not make it in, Weini Kelati Frezghi would bump into her seat and represent Team USA in Tokyo later this summer.
