Day 2 of the USA Track and Field Championships 2025 delivered some electric races including two new 100m US Champions.

With both Noah Lyles and Sha'Carri Richardson dropping out of the 100m men's and women's competition, the door was opened for two new sprinters to make their names.
In the men's 100m final, Kenny Bednarek ran a lightning-fast 9.79 to secure the title, while Melissa Jefferson-Wooden obliterated the competition, running nearly two-tenths ahead of second place.

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won a dominant women's 100m final, running 10.65 to become a US Champion. Kayla White took second with 10.84 and Aleia Hobbs took third with 10.92.

Kenny Bednarek Wins Men's 100m Final
Kung Fu Kenny Bednarek ran 9.79 to win an outstanding 100m final. He is a US Champion and will head to the World Championships in Tokyo.
Courtney Lindsey took second with 9.82, and T'Mars McCallum took third with 9.83.

Diamond League Prize Money
The 2025 Wanda Diamond League series will distribute a record $9.24 million in total prize money, with $500,000 allocated to each of the regular season meets, including an increased payout for select Diamond+ Disciplines at each meeting.
For the season opener in Xiamen, the Diamond+ Disciplines will be 5000m Women, High Jump Women, 110m Hurdles Men, and Pole Vault Men.
