Cooper Lutkenhaus Sets New U18 800M Record At USATF Championships

The 2025 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships continue to heat up despite it being the final day of competition, and Cooper Lutkenhaus has just become the hottest name on the track.

Lutkenhaus set a new record in the men's U18 800M finals with a time of 1:42.27, securing the feat by nearly three seconds. He's now one of the top five fastest Americans to participate in the 800M and is tied No. 17 in the world at just 16-years-old.

His accomplishment may have qualified him for the U.S. team at World Championships in Tokyo in September.
