Gabby Thomas Will Miss 2025 World Championship With Injury
Gabby Thomas will miss the 2025 World Track and Field Championships with an achilles injury.

Gabby Thomas will reportedly miss the 2025 World Track and Filed Championships with a lingering achilles injury, as first reported by NBC Sports.
Thomas was slated to run the 200m after placing third at the USATF Championship with a 22.20 (+0.5) performance in the final.
Thomas has been battling an achilles injury throughout the 2025 season. She opted to not compete throughout the month of July until the USATF Championship. She ran one round of the 100m before shifting her focus completely to the 200m.
At the 2023 World Championships, Thomas earned runner-up honors in the 200m. Then, Thomas earned Triple Gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m.
Her absence will open up a spot for McKenzie Long - after Brittany Brown earned a Championship Bid via her Diamond League Title.
Long finished fifth at the 2025 USATF Championships, but has a season best of 21.93.
