Following the conclusion of the first of eight Gold meetings during the World Athletics Indoor Tour, the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix saw a handful of world leads, all-time marks, and two world records. 

Being a Category A / Gold Level meeting, the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix also plays a role in determining who will find themselves at the World Indoor Tour final (February 22) and ultimately, the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships (March 20-22).

What is the World Athletics Indoor Tour

The World Indoor Tour is a series of meets that are broken up into four different categories with each holding varying weights in terms of points, prize money, and world ranking points.

Category A - Gold

Category B - Silver

Category C - Bronze

Category D - Challenger

How are Winners Determined?

Winners in their respective disciplines are based on their points accumulated (three best results) from throughout the tour; those who hold the most points at the end of the series will earn the World Athletics Indoor Tour title for their respective event - $10,000 and a Wild Card (automatic) into the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships.

Only half of the events/disciplines are included during the World Indoor Tour and alternate each season between men and women.

February 19 - Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais - Lievin, FRA

February 22 - Copernicus Cup (World Indoor Tour Final) - Torun, POL

The 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships is set to take place from March 20 to March 22 in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland.
