College Indoor T&F Team Rankings Presented By Saucony, Oregon Sweeps Big 10
Illinois remains strong in the FloTrack College Indoor Team Rankings presented by Saucony, and Oregon rises to the top after winning the Big 10 Championship
Conference Championships drastically shifted the shape of the FloTrack College Indoor Track and Field Rankings presented by Saucony. Today, FloTrack released its third update of the Team Rankings, with individual rankings to follow.
On the women's side, Illinois leads the rankings for the third consecutive update, with the Oregon men rising to the lead after a win at the Big 10 Conference Championships.

The Oregon Women also won the Big 10 Championship, but fell in the rankings - so let's digest that.
These team rankings are completely objective and are scored based on the TFRRS Qualifying Lists. They include performance conversions and assign points based on rank in an event. For example, a team may have an athlete leading the 200m and 400m. That team would thus score 20 points in a projected championship meet score. B or C Relay Teams are not included in scoring.
Illinois remains at the top despite finishing second to Oregon due to their projections at a National Caliber meet. Oregon possessed the talent and depth to score 70 of their 101 points in the distance events at the Big 10 Championship. That number will obviously be a lot lower at a national meet where scorers from across the country can dilute Oregon's impact on the distance side. Illinois sports some of the top field event athletes across a myriad of disciplines, which could give them the upper hand at the National meet.
Big risers in the Women's rankings included Oklahoma State (up 10 places and 8-points), Auburn, Ole Miss (Up 13 places and 10-points) and Tarleton State (up 11 places and 9-points).
On the men's side, Oregon climbed from fourth to first on the team boards thanks to a few recent performances. Most notably, at the Saucony Battle For Boston, Oregon ran a 9:14.88 DMR, which currently positions them #2 on the season in that event.
Peyton Bair continues to lead the Heptathlon with his US #4 All-Time Mark in the pentathlon. He was ranked third in the individual rankings last week.
Other risers include Florida (up to second from 11th), Texas Tech (up to fifth (tie) from 22nd) and Virginia Tech (up to 13th from 20th).
