D2 Review 10-15/17-10

  Almost every top 10 team on the Men's and Women's side was in competition this weekend. Most teams are settling into a training schedule and preparing for conference in 2-3 weeks.

Bronco Invitational

The Chico Men finished 2nd to Lamar with a team total of 62 points. They were lead by Brent Honda who ran a time of 23:57. Freshmen Isaac Chavez ran number 2 for Chico and stepped up big running 24:17.

Kara Lubieniecki finished 10th for Chico State and lead the women to a 4h place finish. Joyce Colleen placed 42nd and ran 17:52.

Chili Pepper Invitational

Finishing second overall in 16:49 Kristen McGlynn, of Adams State, led her team to a fourth place finish. Cassie Mitchell ran number two for the Grizzlies finishing in 17:29 in 26th place.

Ryan McNiff finished in 17th to lead his Grizzly team to a 4th place overall finish; he ran a time of 30:01, He was followed closely by Luke Cragg who ran 30:16 and finished 25th   

 Travis Beniak of Augustana College placed 64th overall running a time of 31:08 and led his 8th ranked team to a 12th place finish. Fellow teammate Matt Braithwaite followed behind finishing in 93rd place and rnning 31:34. Harding was originally slated to run Chile but are not listed in the results; Kirwa did not run either.

Forth Hays Tiger Classic Men|Women

Ben Zwicki took the top individual honors running 23:48 and led his team to a second place finish to Western State, 41-Western 27. Western State placed 4 in the top 9 to edge Colorado school of mines. Gabe Proctor led his team to an overall win placing second in 23:52.

Lauren Kleppin ran 16:59 to take the individual honors and lead a perfect score. Second was  fellow teammate Hillory Davis in 17:19.  

Gettysburg College Invite Men|Women

Taylor Berg of St. Thomas University took the individual honors in 22:42 in which her team narrowly lost to Shippensburg 77-72.  Patty Reis was Shippensburg’s top finisher in 5th with a time of 23:17. She led her team to an overall victory

Bryan Beagle, of Shippensburg University, was the first attached collegiate finisher in a time of 25:44. The Shippensburg men took second to Johns Hopkins University who was led by Steve Tobochnik who finished 9th in a time of 26:21.

Minot State Invitational

The University of Mary women won this race with a nice score of 28 points. Their top finisher was Melissa Agnew wo ran 18:04. Her fellow teammate (and sister?) Jennifer Agnew placed sixth in 18:34 and led a contingent of Mary women across the line.

Penn State Invitational Men|Women

Tyler Emmorey, of Grand Valley State finished 15th in 25:44 and led his team to a 4th place finish. Fellow teammate Anthony Witt finished in 24th in a time of 25:57.

The top ranked Grand Valley State women finished 5th in a difficult invite. They were led by Sr Katherine McCarthy who finished 25th in a time of 21:26.

Royal Cross Country Challenge

Sr. from Columbus State, Meshack Koyiaki led the way with a time of 24:12, Paul Chelimo followed him closely from Shorter University. Queens University took the team title over UNC-Greensboro, 66-74; Michael Crouch who ran a time of 24:17 led Queens.

UW Oshkosh Brooks Invitational

Minnesota-Duluth took the team title with 89 points. The women were led by Morgan Place who finished first in a time of 21:01. Duluth's second place finisher was Bridget Hines who ran 21:56.

Western State Mountain Run

This was a small meet run as a mixed gender race. The distance was 2.8 miles but over the course of the race athletes gained 1,000ft of elevation. Freshmen Adam Sinda of Western State won in a time of 16:58. He was followed closely by 4 of his teammates.

Agnes Kroneraff of Western State ran unattached but was the first female finisher in a time of 22:20.
