On the women's side,only one freshman won their regional meet that was NC State's Laura Hoer who backed up her ACC win with a Southeast Regional title. This surely makes her the favorite for the FloFrosh award. Rapidly approving however and just missing a regional win in the Great Lakes was Wisconsin's Emily Sisson.The high school 5k record holder was chased down in the final stage of the race by Michigan State's Emily MacLeod, but her performances have improved with each race and she should give Hoer a run for the top spot.Also improving, weekly have been Georgetown freshmen Madeline Chambers and Joanna Stevens who finished 9th and 10th at the Mid Atlantic region ahead of Villanova freshman Emily Lipari in 14th. The South Central region Marielle Hall was back in top form  after an off Big 12 race helping the Texas Longhorns ( hook'em) to a team title placing 5th overall. And out west, Katie Flood led the Washington Women to victory with her 6th place finish. Flood has been steadily rounding into form and will be a dark horse at the National Meet. Stanford's Jessica Tonn, who was right behind Flood at PAC 10s, had a bit of an off race finishing 28th at the West Region.

On the men's side, the highest placing finsher was Texas's Ryan Dohner placing 5th at the South Central Region. He has led the longhorns all year and helped secure a bid to the big dance.  Oklahoma State's freshman duo of Shane Moskowitz and Matt McElroy were 6th and 7th for the cowboys finishing 26th and 32th respectively in the Midwest. Out West, Oregon freshman Parker Stinson finished 31st in the most competive regions in the Nation. Stanford's top frosh, Erik Olson, rested during the regional meet. Olson was not the only one resting this week, Arkansas's Bryan Cantero and FSU's Jakub Zivec both sat on the sidelines.

All questions will be answered this Monday when they compete head to head for the Under Armour The Freshman / FloFrosh award.
