Double Poll: Boys Dream Mile Winner/Time
Double Poll: Boys Dream Mile Winner/Time

Who will win the Dream Mile?
It’s the race conditions any high school runner dreams about: running on a fast track against super competition at a world-class meet. 14 of the nation’s best milers get to race each other on Saturday at the invite-only Jim Ryun Dream Mile in NYC at the adidas Grand Prix.
Lukas Verzbicas (IL) took the title last year and has a 4:03 PR, but Jantzen Oshier won the CA state meet with a US #1 1600 of 4:00. Also in that race, Elias Gedyon ran the US #3 of 4:03. Austin Mudd (IN) has the #2 US mark, also at 4:03, and leads the nation with his 1:49 800.
How fast can they run?

How will the race play out? Mudd’s speed could make that last lap really interesting. But Verzbicas is strong, fresh off setting the 2 mile national HS record of 8:29 at the Pre Classic last week. One thing is for sure: these guys will be racing all out, going for that sub-4 barrier.
It’s a double poll today: who do you think will win? What will be the winning time? Is there enough talent here for a sub-4 or even a handful of sub-4s? Can they get close to Alan Webb’s 3:53 record? Here’s the entry lists, check them out, then VOTE!
