Bumbalough named to Team USA Roster for World Championships
DAEGU - Andrew Bumbalough has been added to Team USA’s roster for the 2011 IAAF World Championships, August 27-Septermber 4 in Daegu, South Korea.
Bumbalough will replace his training partner Chris Solinsky in the men’s 5,000 meters. Bumbalough finished fourth at the USA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. in a time of 13:39.94. Solinsky has withdrawn due to a strained hamstring.
Bumbalough has had a strong year with three personal best times, including a 13:15.77 set in the 5,000m in early March in Melbourne.
Bryan Clay, the reigning Olympic decathlon champion, has also withdrawn from the championships due to injury.
