2011 Rieti - IAAF World Challenge - Meeting # 41

Italian meet stacked with world champions with eyes fixed on PRs:

Races to keep an eye on:

Mens 800:
WR holder David Rudisha returns to his favorite track for another crack at a World Record. Rietei is the same place he set an African record and then followed up the next year with a WR.

Mens 3k:
Tariku Bekele and Bernard Lagat will be squaring off for the second year in a row. Lagat set the AR at this very meet last year and who is to say that it wont go down again?

Mens 1500:
Recently Crowned World Champion Asbel Kiprop will aim to defend his 2010 Rieti title against Olympic Silver Medalist Nick Willis and Amine Laalou. Willis and Laalou will definately be looking to bounce back from less than perfect performances in Daegu.

Mens 100:
Double Daegu silver medalist Walter Dix will line up against a stacked field that includes Nesta Carter and Jaysuma Saidy Ndure. Last year this race saw 5 men under 10 seconds. 

Womens 400:
The women’s 400 metres Hurdles is expected to be a re-match between double Diamond League winner Kaliese Spencer and Olympic gold and World silver medallist Melaine Walker

Womens 1500:
Fresh off her World Championship title Jenny Barringer looks to keep things rolling and set a PR on the fast Rieti track. Alongside Jenny will be world bronze medalist Natalia Rodriuguez.

The action starts tomorrow and fast time are sure to be had!
