USA Olympic Gold Medal Winner Allyson Felix

Bound for 105th Millrose Games

NEW YORK, NY, November 15, 2011 - Millrose Games meet director Ray Flynn announced Olympic Gold medalist Allyson Felix will compete in the 105th Millrose Games at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in Washington Heights.

Felix is scheduled to vie for the Millrose Games women's 60-meter championship.

``I'm excited to be racing the 60 meters in the Millrose Games at the Armory,'' Felix said. ``I love racing in New York City, the energy is always incredible and I'm glad the Millrose Games are a part of my journey to London.''

She teamed with the 4X400 USA squad that won the gold in Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics. The Los Angeles native also secured USA Outdoor titles in the 2011 400 meters and 2010 100 meters, respectively.

Felix expects to use the Millrose Games as a major springboard for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

``We are very excited to welcome Allyson Felix to compete at the upcoming Millrose Games,'' Flynn said. ``She is one of the world's best and a great ambassador for her sport.''

During the 2009 IAAF World Outdoor Championships Felix made track & field history when she became the first woman to capture three World 200-meter titles. She won the World 200-meter title in 2007 and 2005. She also won Gold in the 200 meter, 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter during the 2007 World Championships, a feat accomplished by only one other woman.

The Millrose Games will be Saturday, February, 11, 2012 at its new location, the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory. The country's top men's and women's track & field athletes along with the finest college and high school student-athletes will showcase their talents on the ``world's fastest indoor track.''
