Louisville Track and FieldÂ’s Michelle Theophille Earns BIG EAST Honor
This is the first BIG EAST honor of Michelle TheophilleÂ’s career.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
University of Louisville womenÂ’s track and fieldÂ’s Michelle Theophille was named the BIG EAST Female Field Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Theophille, collecting her first career weekly honor, earned a second-place finish in the high jump at the Kentucky Invitational by clearing 1.79m/5-10.50 on her first attempt.
Not only is it the fourth-best indoor high jump mark in school history, but it is second best in the BIG EAST and tied for eighth-best nationally.
A Whitby, Ontario, native, Theophille earned her first win of the year at the season-opener, clearing 1.77m/5-9.75 for a first-place finish at the Indiana Open.
Louisville returns to action this weekend at the Gladstein Invitational from Jan. 20-21 in Bloomington, Ind. The two-day event will be held at Gladstein Fieldhouse on the
campus of Indiana University.
