LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field teams return to the state of Indiana for the second time in two weeks, competing at the Gladstein Invitational from Jan. 20-21 in Bloomington, Ind., on the campus of Indiana University.

The two-day event will take place at the Gladstein Fieldhouse, and live results will be available each day at www.IUHoosiers.com. The Cardinals, who will have 13 athletes in action, open competition on Friday at noon and resume on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.

Kim Cardeiro and Gabrielle Jackson are slated to compete in the pentathlon for the first time this season, beginning with the 60m hurdles on Friday at noon. Following the high jump, shot put and long jump competition, the duo will complete the five-event schedule at 4:55 p.m. with the 800m race.

Chelsea Lucas (pole vault) and Maggie Gilbertson (high jump) will compete in their respective field events, while Cassie Martin (3,000m), Michelle Molodynia (mile) and Ariel Briggs (5,000m) will take to the track on Friday.

On the men’s side, Seon Powell (triple jump), Kevin Jackson (pole vault) and Calvin Arsenault (60m hurdles) are scheduled to compete in their respective events on the first day of competition. Last week, Arsenault placed fifth in the event at the Kentucky Invitational, and Jackson currently holds the fourth-best mark in the BIG EAST (4.90m/16-0.75) in the pole vault after achieving the mark at the Indiana Open.

On Saturday, Taylor Caldwell, Powell and Wesley Smith will participate in the long jump finals at noon, and Ahlivia Spencer concludes the meet in the 800m race. The 800m semifinal begins at 1 p.m. and, should she advance, the finals start at 1:20 p.m.
