University of Toledo Director of Track and Field / XC, Kevin Hadsell hosts his own weekly radio show "Coffee Talk with Coach" on WXUT 88.3 FM. The show, which airs LIVE on Sundays from 10pm - Midnight ET, is streamed LIVE audio and video on WXUT.com. A 45-minute segment of the show, from 10:45 - 11:30pm ET, is devoted to covering NCAA track/xc.
The show features a mix of music and talk. Last week's guests included: Florida State head coach, Bob Bramen, Nebraska throws coach, Carrie Lane and Texas A&M distance/cross country coach, Wendel McRaven.
January 29th show will feature interviews with Texas Cross Country/Distance Coach John Hayes and Flotrack’s Ryan Fenton(flotrack.org). In addition, the show features regular track and field analysis from Jesse Squire of tracksuperfan.com.
The new show marks a return to radio for Hadsell who spent time in the mid-90s doing college baseball. "The show is fun, funny and entertaining while devoting time to promoting our sport. It is a great blend of music coupled with great conversation."
Hadsell is a four-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year (2001,2002,2010,2011) and led the Rockets to their second straight NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship where his women finished 21st. The Rockets also won their fourth MAC Championship for women's cross country this past fall.
