Amashi-ali KendallÂ’s mark of 20.66m/67-9.5 in the weight throw ranks sixth-best nationally.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
University of Louisville womenÂ’s track and fieldÂ’s Amashi-ali Kendall was named the BIG EAST Female Field Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Kendall placed second among collegians last week at the Indiana Relays in the weight throw, posting a collegiate-best mark of 20.66m/67-9.5. The throw ranks sixth nationally,
and Kendall is the only BIG EAST female student-athlete to rank in the top 50 in the event. An Owensboro, Ky., native, Kendall has two wins in the event this year, taking first in the weight throw at the Indiana Open and the Kentucky Invitational.
The Cardinals split squads this weekend, with the distance runners heading to the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational (Feb. 3-4) and the sprints/hurdles, jumps and throws groups
traveling to the VT Elite Meet (Feb. 3-4).
