Hubers Runs NCAA Auto in the 3,000 meters

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Ben Hubers locked in his spot at NCAAs with an NCAA Automatic time in the 3,000 meters on day two at the Hoosier Hills. Indiana won four events on the day.
 
Hubers clocked a time of 7:52.02 to get under the NCAA Auto standard of 7:52.30. With the time, Hubers moves into third in IU history in the event.  He joins teammate Andy Bayer as an automatic qualifier in the 3,000 meters and trails only Bayer in the Big Ten this season, ranking eighth in Division I this year.
 
DeÂ’Sean Turner and Daniel Stockberger took first and second in the invitational 800 meters, after running on the historic distance medley relay on Friday night. Turner clocked a time of 1:51.19 for the win with Stockberger second in 1:51.57.
 
Antonia Franklin won the womenÂ’s invitational 400 meters in 56.48, shedding more than a second off her career best in the process. Jordan Gray won the womenÂ’s invitational 800 in 2:12.95.
 
IU alum Molly Beckwith won the invitational mile in 4:41.62, and Chris Vaughn, who was also on the DMR on Friday, took second in the menÂ’s invitational 400 in 47.86.
