Advertising Guidelines

Entering the USA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, USATF undertook to clarify uniform advertising rules pursuant to both USATF and IAAF rules.

At the closing session of USATF’s 2011 Annual Meeting in St. Louis, after discussions between athlete and board leaders, it was announced that resolution of this issue would be driven by a joint-effort between athletes and the board, with the idea of reaching a compromise. USATF and athlete leaders have been in vigorous discussions the last few weeks,  and a resolution is likely to come at the in-person board meeting in Albuquerque as that discussion continues. Albuquerque will mark the first opportunity since St. Louis that the board and athletes will have the opportunity to meet together in person.

Until final resolution is achieved, we have developed regulations for Albuquerque which allow for a non-commercial club logo in addition to the manufacturer’s mark and second commercial logo that are currently allowed by IAAF rules.

The complete regulations are available at www.usatf.org/About/Privacy---Other-Policies/Uniform-Guidelines.aspx.
