Hoosiers Finish Up in Texas, at Purdue

AUSTIN, Texas & WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Indiana track and field posted big marks at both the Texas Relays and the Mike Poehlein Invitational on Saturday.
 
Darius King took second in the menÂ’s high jump, clearing 2.18m (7-1.75) and Derek Drouin was third with a clearance of 2.15m (7-0.5). KingÂ’s clearance moves him into fourth on IUÂ’s all-time list, and both Hoosiers rank amongst the top 10 this season in Division I.
 
Kelsie Ahbe cleared a season best 4.25m (13-11.25) in the womenÂ’s pole vault for eighth place. The junior leads the Big Ten this season.
 
At Purdue, Dan Galos followed a Big PR in the hammer throw on Friday with a win in the discus on Saturday. The senior won by nearly three feet with a heave of 49.86m (163-7).
 
The womenÂ’s discus saw Taja Moore take second at 45.78m (150-2).  Monique Riddick was third in the womenÂ’s shot put (14.85m (48-8.75)) and M.J. Doan was fifth (14.17m (46-6)).
