Phillips wraps ArkansasÂ’ run at Mt. SAC Relays

 

            FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Competition at the Mt. SAC Relays for the No. 6 University of Arkansas menÂ’s team came to a close Friday evening with Duncan Phillips in the 1,500 meters. The Razorback senior finished in 12th place overall with a time of 3:43.14. Arkansas also began competition at the John McDonnell Invitational Friday in Fayetteville.

            Running in the invitational section of the 1,500 meters, Phillips crossed the finish line with the second-fastest time of his career. He finished eighth place in section one and 12th overall. With his latest performance, the two fastest times of his career at 1,500 meters have come at the Mt. SAC Relays. Last season, Phillips posted a time of 3:39.87 at the event.

            In the RazorbacksÂ’ only result Friday at their home meet, Justin Holmes and Marlon Dwyer finished in third and seventh place, respectively, in the discus. Holmes had a dayÂ’s best throw of 47.95m/1574 while Dwyer got the disc out to 45.75m/150-1 on his final attempt of the event.

Competition continues Saturday at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville.
