Cavaliers Host Virginia/Panorama Farms Open Saturday
WomenÂ’s race starts at 10 a.m.; men begin at 10:30 a.m.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia menÂ’s and womenÂ’s cross country teams host the Virginia/Panorama Farms Open Saturday morning in Earlysville, Va. The womenÂ’s 5K race is scheduled for 10 a.m.,
while the menÂ’s 5K is slated for 10:30 a.m.
Individuals who would like to compete on Saturday can sign up between 7:30-9 a.m. at Panorama Farms. Entry fee is $20 for an individual and $5 for college students (college student ID required). Admission is free to Virginia home cross
country meets.
Last time out, the men finished second at the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday (Oct. 27) in Blacksburg, Va., while the women placed sixth. Graduate student
Zach Gates (Fishers, Ind.) and redshirt freshman Kyle King (Yorktown, Va.) crossed the line fourth and fifth overall, respectively, while freshman
Connor Rog (Fairfield, Conn.) earned the ACC Freshman of the Year honor for being the top true freshman finisher (18th overall). Graduate student
Catherine White (Roanoke, Va.) was the runner-up on the womenÂ’s side.
The Cavaliers return to action Nov. 9 for the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Charlotte, N.C. The womenÂ’s 6K starts at noon, while the menÂ’s 10K takes place at 1:15 p.m.
