Hasay is Moving up to the 10k
Jordan Hasay will be moving up a bit in distance this spring. The Oregon senior, who finished third at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, will run the 10,000m sometime before she graduates.
She's had success at all distances between a mile and 5000m. In high school, she set the previous national prep record for 1500m of 4:14.50. Her sophomore year at Oregon, she won two individual titles at the NCAA Indoor National Championships at the mile (4:33.01) and 3000m (9:13.17).
Outdoors, she ran her personal best in the 5000m with an eleventh place finish at the Mt. SAC Relays in 15:37.29.
Following the NCAA Championships, Hasay told Runners World, "I’m moving up to the 10K... [The 6k] felt really good today, really comfortable, and so I feel I can do another 4K at that pace." Full article here.
