Radcliffe starting to see the end?
In one month Paula Radcliffe will be turning 39-years old. The women's marathon world record-holder is not ready to retire, but her status as an elitre runner is in jeopardy after the realization that he foot injury from the summer was more serious than she originally thought.

A few days before the 2012 Summer Olympics marathon in London, Radcliffe decided to drop out of the race after pain on her left foot became unbearable. According to The Telegraph, it turned out that Radcliffe was missing cartiliage in her left foot, which caused the bones within to rub against eachother resulting in pain.

She underwent surgery on August 22nd and is expected to start jogging again in a matter of weeks. Doctors estimated an eight month recovery period would be best for her.

While Mo Farah would like to make his marathon debut at the 2014 London Marathon, another storyline for the race could be Paula Radcliffe's final race. Ten years ago, she set the world record on the London course and she was ready to celebrate that anniversary in the 2013 race, until her injury ruined her plans. The Telegraph also noted that the Commonwealth Games in Glasow are another option.
