Statement from Chris Brewer regarding Monday's accident

All,

A number of you have asked to follow up with Chris Brewer and Molly Grabill regarding Monday’s accident. First off, thank you for your concern. After speaking with them and their families, they would prefer not to do any interviews right now. However, Chris gave me some remarks that he would like to share with everyone. They are below. I can also confirm that Molly was discharged from RiverBend around 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks again,

Greg

Statement from Chris Brewer regarding Monday night’s accident on I-5:

“I am just thankful that Molly and I are alright. It’s really a miracle.“

“It was just a shock when it happened, like something you see in a movie. It’s still very traumatic and hard to think about.”

“I would like to thank everyone for their support both here at the University and back home. Our families, friends and teammates have been great just being there for us and taking care of whatever we need.”

“I’ve received emails and texts from so many people who are concerned, especially from back home and I know Molly has too. Eugene and San Diego are such amazing places and the people in both really care a lot and we truly appreciate that.”
