Hollywood couldn't conjure up that sort of sheer hearbreak. After a horrendous bike crash, the most promising endurance athlete of this generation was cut down to a frail skeleton who had to learn to walk again. 

But the resilience and unwavering self-confidence of the former World Junior Triathlon champion willed him to a win at the 2013 Ringling Bridge Run. Here is a quick highlight of the race.

This is LV's second official road race since the bike crash that left him with two broken vertebrae, a broken clavicle, a collapsed lung, and a spinal cord that was injured, but not damaged. He seemed in good spirits after the race tweeting this:
