Weir Faster than Blake and Bolt in Season Debut
Weir Faster than Blake and Bolt in Season Debut

Olympic bronze medalist Warren Weir was the first to declare for the 2013 Camperdown Classic. On Saturday, he would end up posting the fastest 400-meter time of the three Jamaican medalists from this summer's 200-meter dash Olympic final.
Usain Bolt ran in the second heat of the men's 400-meter dash and won with a time of 47.71. Allodin Fothergill was leading until Bolt caught up in the final straight away.
It would not be fair to say that the world record holder jogged his first track race of the season. Afterwards, he was lying in the infield catching his breath.
Yohan Blake and Weir followed in the next section. Blake, the 200-meter dash silver medalist, was leading 200-meters into the race. Weir pushed it into another gear shortly thereafter and ended up winning 46.23. The result would hold up as the fastest time on the day. Blake finished second overall with a time of 46.64.
This is only the start of action on the track for the three Olympic medalists. Bolt will play in the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game on Friday. That can be seen at 7 p.m. (Eastern time) on TNT.
