Nanny 911: Mo Farah Edition (Rock N' Roll NOLA Preview)

Mo Farah may have a bit more than just Sunday’s Rock N’ Roll New Orleans Half-Marathon on his mind lately. His wife, Tianna, was not feeling well the last few days which meant the Olympic gold medalist was left to take care of his three children by himself.

Sleeping on a sofa could lead to back or neck pains, which is definitely something he does not want with a race in a few days. Surprisingly there were no tweets about waking up in the middle of the night since Farah's twins were born in late August.

Farah can run any distance through 5,000-meters in under 15 minutes. Just a year ago, he set his indoor 3,000-meter personal best of 7:34.47 in Birmingham. Two days before that he ran 8:08.07 in the two-mile.

40-minutes later, he is at ease.

The second day of watching the kids went much better than the first, which is fortunate to hear for Mo’s sake after the first day read like the script to an episode of Nanny 911.
Farah has spent time training in Kenya after the Summer Olympic Games in London, where he came away with victories in the men’s 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs. Sunday will mark his first race in the United States in the new year and his first half-marathon since he made his debut at the 2011 New York City Half-Marathon, where he placed won with his time of 1:00.23.

After finishing second to Farah in 2011, Gebre Gebremariam of Ethiopia will look for revenge this weekend. His personal best of 1:00.25 from the Rock N’ Roll Philadelphia Half-Marathon has not been improved on since 2010.
Also in the race will be Martin Lel of Kenya, the three-time winner of the Virgin London Marathon. Lel holds the New Orleans Half-Marathon course record of 1:01.07, which is likely to fall this weekend.
The weather for Sunday calls for a high of 65 degrees with a chance of rain. The half-marathon is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. local time.
