Chad Noelle Transfers from Oregon to Oklahoma State
The best just got better. Former Oregon Duck Chad Noelle recently announced that he’ll be leaving Eugene for Stillwater, OK. He’ll join the Oklahoma State Cowboys who have won three of the last four NCAA Cross Country team titles.

This isn’t great news for any other team that was thinking of making a title run. According to Isaac Wood’s pre-season projections, the Cowboys are set to defend their NCAA team title. The Wood Report has OSU scoring 88 points and the University of Colorado taking second with 148.

That probable team includes Tom Farrell (7th at NCAAs last fall), Shadrick Kipchirchir (18th), Joseph Manilafasha (24th), Kirubel Erassa (102nd), Shane Moskowitz (53rd), Craig Nowak (N/A), Fabian Clarkson (164th). The only loss for OSU, which is a big one, is their top man Girma Mecheso. Still, OSU is poised to repeat (again).

Fun Fact: OSU has placed in the top-10 at NCAAs for eight straight years.

Flotrack first learned of Noelle’s transfer per Curtis Anderson of The Register-Guard.

"I just got a great feel from the school," Noelle told Flotrack. "I really felt comfortable with coach Dave Smith and the team felt tight knit and they've had great success. I'm excited for this opportunity to run fast and finish my degree at a great place."

Noelle has yet to prove himself in XC, but a sub-4 miler (3:41.09 1500m) is a dangerous addition to an already deep squad. Noelle redshirted his freshman year at Oregon and has only run one cross country race for the Ducks, which was the Pac-12 Conference Championships last fall. He finished 64th overall in 25:23.11.

Did we mention that Oklahoma State is putting the finishing touches on their brand new outdoor track? That makes two nice gifts for the summer.
