It’s a dream race come true.

Usain Bolt has accepted Mo Farah’s head-to-head challenge. The distance? Either 600m or 800m.

Following his victory in the men’s 3000m at the London Diamond League Meeting, Farah suggested that the two should put on a race for their respective charity foundations.

“Are you up for that? Come, you’ve got to do it,” Farah said. “Let’s get it on.”

The six-time Olympic champion has responded. “It sounds like fun,” Bolt said. “It would be tough, but for charity. 600m would be better for me.”

This wouldn’t be the first time that Bolt has been challenged by another London Olympic legend. Back in March, 800m world record holder David Rudisha said he had plans to race Bolt over 400m. The race never came to fruition.

Since Farah and Bolt share the same agent, there’s a small glimmer of hope that this event might actually happen. Plus, the two share a common bond in athletics.

“Me and Mo, we go way back,” Bolt said after the last night of the London Olympics. “We have been through ups and downs.”

No date or place has has been set, but Farah remains optimistic. “It would be great to do a distance where people, proper athletics fans, vote in on what distance they think is most suitable.”

Editor’s Note: On almost a weekly basis, I ask the Flotrack office who would win over 650m. If this race were to happen, I could die happy.
