EQT PITTSBURGH 10 MILER ADDS $10,500 PRIZE PURSE

(13-Sep) -- The inaugural edition of the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, set for Sunday, Nov. 3 will have a USD 10,500 prize money purse, organizers announced yesterday. The race is organized by Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc., the same group which puts on the Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon in the spring.
"The addition of prize money to our newest event reinforces our continued support to elite athletes," said Patrice Matamoros, the organization's energetic executive director, through a statement. "We are committed to establishing Pittsburgh as top destination for competitive runners. We feel strongly that it is part of our mission to provide support and resources to our country's emerging talent."
The USATF-certified course will take runners from Station Square to downtown, crossing four bridges. Race winners will receive USD 2500 each.
