New Balance in position to land Abbey D'Agostino

Today New Balance announced that Dartmouth's Women's Head Coach, Mark Coogan will be joining their Running Sports Marketing Team.

And, it doesn't take much effort to connect the dots about Coogan's future, New Balance's future, and ultimately Abbey D'Agostino's future.

2002 Coogan retires from running

2010 Coogan joins Dartmouth College as an assistant along with freshman Abbey D'Agostino

2011 Coogan becomes Dartmouth's Women's HC, D'Agostino has a breakout year

2012 New Balance replaces Nike as Dartmouth's official track sponsor

2013 Coogan leads Dartmouth's Women's team to XC Nationals headed by D'Agostino

JAN 2014 Coogan joins New Balance's Marketing Team
JUN 2014 Coogan forms a New Balance Boston Elite Team

JUN 2014 D'Agostino signs with New Balance to pair up with coach Coogan

D'Agostino is soon to be the premier female unsigned free agent. With this move New Balance just put themselves in the drivers seat to land D'Agostino.

Keep in mind New Balance recently signed distance women like Jenny Simpson & Emma Coburn. So Abbey D'Agostino is certainly a prime target for the Summer of 2014.
